  19. Develop the BGP protocol and BGP technical usage within the Internet,
  20. continuing the current work of the Interconnectivity Working Group in
  21. this regard.

  24.  Goals and Milestones:

  26.   Ongoing Coordinate the deployment of BGP in conformance with the BGP usage 
  27.           document in a manner that promotes sound engineering and an open 
  28.           competitive environment.  Take into account the interests of the 
  29.           various backbone and mid-level networks, the various vendors, and the
  30.           user community.

  32.      Done Complete development of Version 2 of the Border Gateway Protocol 
  33.           (BGP).

  35.      Done Develop a mature BGP technical usage document that  allows us to 
  36.           build Inter-AS routing structures using the BGP protocol.

  38.      Done Develop a MIB for BGP Version 3.

  40.      Done Work with the Security Area to enhance the provision for security in 
  41.           BGP.

  43.      Done Develop a BGP usage document describing how BGP can be used as part 
  44.           of a network monitoring strategy.

  46.      Done Post an Internet-Draft specifying multicast extensions to BGP.

  48.      Done Post the specfication of BGP 4 as an Internet-Draft.

  50.      Done Post an Internet-Draft specifying a MIB for BGP Version 4.

  52.    Jan 93 Submit the multicast extensions to BGP to the IESG as a Proposed
